St Ives Bay

A Study in Light & Texture

"There is a specific luminosity to St Ives Bay that stays with you long after you’ve left the shoreline. For me, this stretch of North Cornwall isn't just a subject; it’s a twenty-year dialogue between my brush and the Atlantic. Having painted these vistas for two decades, I’ve watched the light shift across Godrevy and the swell build at Gwithian through every season. It is a landscape that feels like home, etched into my creative DNA."

"Gwithian, in particular, remains a firm family favourite. Year on year, we find ourselves drawn back to the three-mile expanse of sand and the predictable, rhythmic pulse of the surf. It’s where my children have grown up against a backdrop of marram grass and turquoise water, and those personal memories are woven into every impasto stroke of my surf collections. When I paint 'Carbis Bay' or 'Ocean’s Breath,' I’m not just capturing a scene; I’m capturing twenty years of shared family history on the dunes."
